Utility Relief Inc. is a 501(c) 3 Charity Organization dedicated to raising funds for the purpose of restoring or preventing utility disconnections for residential households of the Carolinas. The organization is privately owned & operated and is focused on providing a simple process for residents to request funding in their greatest time of need.
How It Works
For residential households seeking funding assistance to restore or prevent utility service disconnection, applicants will complete a brief application from this website. Eligibility is primarily based on amount of funds available. Applicant will receive feedback via email. Upon approval, funds will be forwarded directly to the utility service provider.
Why Donate?
- Numerous residential households experience disconnected utility services each month due to economic hardships and/or lack of income sources.
- Over 20% of residential households across the Carolinas have faced utility disconnections due to non-payment over the last two years. Over 50% of those residences had an average of four occupants.
- Over 80% of every dollar donated to Utility Relief Inc., goes directly to a utility service provider for service restoration. Remaining funds are used for general administrative purposes.
- Donations derive primarily from cash contributions from individuals and private business entities.
